8/31/15 More pictures........

The "new" name decal goes on the stripe on the aft.

Here's Dad posing with the stern rail at his shop in Newfield.  Thanks again Dad for the use of your shop and tools!

We drove to NJ to meet Mrs. Sahar.  She and her husband went to Sweden in 1995 to watch the boat as it was being built.  What a wonderful visit we had!  We met 2 of her children with their kids as well.  Now we feel like part of the family.
Our 2 Swedish boats side by side at Brian and Deb's here in Pennellville.                                                                                   1977 25' Albin "mouse" & 1996 39' Hallberg Rassy "Persephone"

Stanchions Lifelines Stern Rails

8/20/15
Now it looks like a sailboat with the stanchions and lifelines in place.  Jerry continues to work on the stern rails.  They were pretty bent up but we'll need to use them this season.  Not enough time to build the radar arch on the back with solar panels and davits.  You can see Persephone on the side.  When we bought the boat it had no name on it.  This photo has the name put on with paper and packing tape.

So many projects! So little time to post......

Today is 8/8/15.  We've been able to accomplish so much thanks to family and friends who have helped out, given advice, loaned tools.....  Thanks especially to our friends Brian and Deb who allow us to live in their front yard while we try to tackle all of these projects in a short amount of time.  Summer is passing by so quickly.  I just had a wonderful conversation with the previous owner,  Mrs. Sahar, of our beautiful Hallberg Rassy....time to put some more pictures....
The boom had a slight bend to it that had to be straightened......

It's amazing how far you have to bend it beyond straight to make it straight!

Jerry working on the wiring......

All new terminal blocks, connections, circuit breakers, and circuit breaker switches.

The cap rail had three places that needed to be replaced.

There were two panes of glass on the windscreen that had been broken and the aluminum frame was twisted.  We straightened the frame and replaced the pieces with acrylic.  Here's a before and after...

New aluminum propane tanks and a clean propane locker.....
My sister from Maine stopped by with her family for lunch....

And thanks to Jerry's brother Dan who has helped out with so many of the projects.  Here Jerry and Dan go for a ride to check out the engine.

Here's a shot of the top of one of the fuel tanks before...
And after.....
Our friend Patti stopped by on her way from FL to Washington and on to Mexico to buy her own "new" boat.  Here we are working on cleaning the fuel tank.
And the list goes on of all of our accomplishments....I just don't have the camera on hand for everything or we're too tired and dirty to stop and take pictures.  Next week - making new foam cushions for the salon.
One last bit, a little fun with our summer rental cat Kurd.  He belongs to Bill and Laurie next door but when we're here (he loves people) he chooses to adopt us and hangs out on the boat while everyone is off to work.  He's an old cat so I have many opportunities to take a picture of him asleep.
